President ?ngel Cabrera and Provost Peters Stearns honored the university?s most distinguished faculty and welcomed new members to its ranks at a reception held in the Mason Hall Atrium on Aug. 22.

The group includes endowed chairs, University Professors, Distinguished Professors, Distinguished Service Professors and Clarence J. Robinson Professors.

?It is pretty humbling to be able to call you all my colleagues,? Cabrera told the assembly. ?I cannot tell you how many times people said to me when I told them I was joining George Mason, ?Wow! That is where so-and-so works.?? He praised the group for contributing to the university?s reputation, saying, ?You are my directors of branding.?

Stearns and Dean Kenneth Ball, Volgenau School of Engineering; Dean Jack Censer, College of Humanities and Social Sciences; Dean Mark Ginsburg, College of Education and Human Development; Dean Bill Reeder, College of Visual and Performing Arts; and Dean Edward Rhodes, School of Public Policy, introduced members new to the group of distinguished faculty who were present.
