Self Improvement Information You Should Take Advantage Of ...

TIP! Make your goals specific; this way, they can lead to personal development success. Having goals will allow you to better problem solve on how to get there.

In the field of self improvement, education is key. Ensure that you are always seeking out new ways that you can use to improve yourself. Your personality is an important tool for your success, but you will also have to do a lot of studying.

TIP! Realize that a gap exists between where you want to be and where you are now. This can help you get where you plan to be.

Look for the things you admire or appreciate about others and give them compliments. By being proactive and reaching out, being nice to others will help you to treat yourself nicely as well.

TIP! Self-discipline is a key element of any personal development program. You need to be able to control your body?s urges.

Do not boast about your accomplishments. Talk to people and find out more about their own achievements. You will be amazed to hear some of the wonderful and interesting things the people around you have done in their lives, and you will earn new respect for them by understanding their true character.

TIP! Take a notebook around with you to jot ideas in. You could for instance carry a small notebook with you, or use an app on your phone.

When you want to improve yourself, you need goals. Don?t just think about them, either; write them down. If you hope to boost your self-confidence, include this on your list. Then, think of things you can do, or might have already done, to build your confidence. You would then put yourself into the situations that would make it happen. Give yourself the opportunity to acquire new qualities and use them.

TIP! Avoid the temptation to comfort yourself with a shopping spree. Shopping your stress away, or ?retail therapy? as some people say, is really more of a stress inducer, because it distracts you from the stress for a while but it all comes back with big bills and interest charges when the bills come in.

If failings don?t respond to efforts at improvement, it may be wise to consult a therapist. Self help books are useful to an extent, but they lack the substance or personal touch that a therapist can provide to a patient. Just talking through your problems can lead you toward success. A mental health professional will be able to open a dialogue that no book ever could.

TIP! Try to spend less time bragging about your own accomplishments, and take the time to ask people about what they?ve done. You will find that you will learn more about those around you better by doing this.

Keep track of your progress and learn to organize yourself. By taking a large goal and breaking it down to more manageable segments, you will see that completing your goals has become easier. Track your progress toward important goals with a diary, daily planner, or blog.

TIP! It is important when you are working on your personal development that you know what you plan to do in your life. Long-term goals are huge and can have a huge impact on your perspective.

Everyone makes mistakes, one of those is poor food choices every now and then. Allowing stressful situations to build can be as harmful as eating an unhealthy diet, and therefore, it is important to remind yourself to maintain perspective and your calm at all times.

TIP! Talking to a professional counselor or a pastor can be an extremely rewarding experience. Many of these professionals are both licensed and experienced, meaning they are well-equipped to help you with your personal issues.

Establish your priorities, and then focus on them wholeheartedly. If you direct your energy towards what is most important and stop focusing on the other negative aspects of your existence, you will lead a happier and more peaceful life.

TIP! Read good articles about personal development. A good personal development book can give you great advice and ideas that can change your life.

For inspiration, read about the things others have done on their paths to success. Pay special attention to their mistakes, as well as their overall strategies, so that you don?t have to learn the hard way. Read up on what they did to apply the lessons in your own quest toward positive self improvement.

TIP! Determine the things that are vital to you, and be sure to focus on these things. By concentrating on those things that you cherish and appreciate, you?re less likely to be pessimistic and to brood over adverse situations that are of little consequence.

Exercising is not only a way to lose weight. There are many physiological benefits associate with exercise. People who exercise regularly are generally happier and more relaxed than their couch potato counterparts.

TIP! It is said that you have two ears and one mouth, because you should listen more than you speak. This goes double for personal development.

You deserve to have only the best in life, and until you realize this, you can?t really move forward. You should understand that you owe yourself your best effort. When all is said and done, you know that what was done was all that you could do, and you won?t have any regrets.

TIP! Create goals that you can accomplish and live the life you love. By discovering your weaknesses and working on them, it is possible to evolve into a better person.

These tips will give you a head-start on learning how to improve your personal development. Make sure you are always on the lookout for new information to add to your arsenal of strategies you can use towards personal development.

Presidential debate 101: Is Romney right that Navy is smallest since 1917?

It's true that the Navy is smaller today than it was in 1917, but the US warship count was smaller still in the Bush 2 administration. However, the US still rules the waves in terms of naval firepower.

By Peter Grier,?Staff writer / October 24, 2012

The USS Enterprise (CVN 65) moves through the Suez Canal for the last time in this Oct.12 photograph, released on Oct.15. The 51-year-old aircraft carrier is to be retired in December, reducing the Navy's 11-carrier fleet to 10.

Is the US Navy now smaller than at any time since 1917? That?s what Mitt Romney charged during the final presidential debate on Monday night. The former Massachusetts governor vowed that if elected president he?d rebuild America?s declining maritime power.

?The Navy said they needed 313 ships to carry out their mission. We?re now down to 285.... I want to make sure that we have the ships that are required by our Navy,? Mr. Romney said.

President Obama replied with sarcasm, saying that the comparison wasn?t apt because the US has ships called submarines, which sail underwater, and aircraft carriers, upon which planes can land. We?ll get to this qualitative judgment in a moment, but first let?s look at the numbers. Is Romney right?

Yes, partly. In December of 1916 the US Navy consisted of 245 ships, according to Naval History and Heritage Command data. That?s certainly fewer than it has today. But that year also saw the passage of the Naval Act of 1916, meant to help counter Germany?s strength afloat. By the middle of 1917, the US had 342 active warships. By 1918, it had 774.

But Romney didn?t just say the Navy was smaller now than in 1916. He implied that it was at a historical nadir ? his exact words were ?smaller now than any time since 1917." That further implication isn?t correct.

In 2007, during the administration of George W. Bush, the Navy bottomed out at 278 total active warships. The Naval History and Heritage Command chart notes that this number represents the service?s low since the 19th century.

It?s crept up a bit since then to the current 285 level.

What about strength, though? That?s a calculation that involves more than just numbers. It?s true that today?s warships are far more powerful than those of 1916, as Obama pointed out, but so are those of our adversaries. How does the US stand in regards to the naval forces of the rest of the world, and how has that changed over the years?

That?s a question that Florida State political scientists Brian Crisher and Mark Souva have attempted to answer. Their methodology involves toting up the number of each nation?s actual warships, figuring out their firepower, and comparing that to the total firepower of the rest of the world.

According to their calculations, in 1916 the US controlled about one-third of the world?s naval power. That sounds impressive, but it still placed the US behind Germany, which had roughly 19 percent, and Britain, which then had 34 percent of international naval strength.

The picture is much different today. The US controls about 50 percent of world naval power, according to Professors Crisher and Souva. No other nation even comes close. Russia is in second place, with a comparable figure of 11 percent.

There is the further question of coverage ? the world is large, and projecting power around the world requires sheer fleet numbers, no matter the capabilities of each ship. The Romney campaign has accused President of undermining the US in this regard by proposing the premature retirement of the carrier USS Enterprise and six Ticonderoga-class cruisers to save money.

Thus the Romney campaign?s national security white paper says that if elected the former Massachusetts governor ?will put our Navy on the path to increase its shipbuilding rate from nine per year to approximately fifteen per year.?

Ghana frees ally of ex-Ivory Coast leader, drops murder charge

ACCRA (Reuters) - A court in Ghana released a top ally of former Ivory Coast president Laurent Gbagbo on Wednesday after dismissing charges brought by Ivorian authorities that he murdered two men during last year's post-election civil war.

Allegations that pro-Gbagbo exiles in Ghana have masterminded a rash of armed raids on security and infrastructure targets in Ivory Coast in recent months have strained relations between the two West African neighbors.

Justin Kone Katinan, Gbagbo's former budget minister, was arrested in August on an international warrant accusing him of financial crimes.

After being released on bail, he was re-arrested and charged with two killings allegedly committed at the height of the conflict, which erupted after Gbagbo refused to accept the victory of rival Alassane Ouattara in a poll in late 2010.

"Unless you can tell me a reason how legally you are able to initiate proceedings against Mr Katinan, I have no option but to release him...You are free," Judge Ali Baba Bature told a court in Ghana's capital Accra, dismissing the murder charges.

Katinan still faces possible extradition to Ivory Coast on the earlier warrant which accuses him of organizing raids on 10 Ivorian banks during the election crisis and stealing a total of around 300 billion CFA francs ($592.91 million).

His extradition hearing is scheduled to continue on November 7.

"The outcome doesn't surprise us. We believe they were trumped up charges to send Mr Katinan into the hands of the powers that be in his country," Katinan's lawyer Patrick Sogbodjor told Reuters, referring to the murder case.

Ivory Coast's government spokesman said it "respected" the decision of the Ghanaian court.

"We think that the Ghanaian justice system is sovereign, therefore we do not have any particular comment to make," Bruno Kone told Reuters.

While Gbagbo is currently awaiting trial in The Hague accused of crimes against humanity, many of his top political and military allies are living in exile, having fled Ivory Coast at the end of the war.

Several leading members of the regime, including Katinan, have established a base in Ghana from which they are working to destabilize the new government, according to a report by a United Nations expert panel released this month.

The U.N. investigators, who are charged with monitoring an arms embargo in Ivory Coast, say the pro-Gbagbo exiles are behind a series of armed raids that began in August.

The attacks led Ouattara, now president, to order the closure last month of Ivory Coast's border with Ghana, a measure that remained in place for more than two weeks disrupting trade along one of West Africa's principal transport corridors. ($1 = 505.9830 CFA francs)

As unconventional U.S. oil, gas boom, so do jobs: report

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. oil and gas rush is cutting into jobless numbers, supporting a total of 1.7 million jobs this year, a number that will swell to almost 3 million by 2020, a leading consultant said in a study released on Tuesday.

The report by forecaster IHS Global Insight is part of a series attempting to quantify the impact that booming production of so-called "unconventional" oil and gas has had on the American economy.

Using new technology to blast fossil fuels trapped in shale rock has transformed the U.S. energy sector.

After five years of rapid growth, unconventional oil accounts for about 2 million barrels per day of U.S. production in 2012, IHS said. Total U.S. crude oil production is expected to average 6.3 million barrels per day, according to the Energy Information Administration.

Unconventional oil will outpace conventionally drilled oil by 2015 and reach close to 4.5 million bpd by 2020, representing close to two-thirds of total U.S. crude and condensate production, IHS said.

"At which point do you stop calling this unconventional?" said John Larson, a vice-president at the firm and lead author of the study, in an interview.

"This is going to become the convention."

Oil, gas and chemical lobby groups helped pay for the study but did not influence its independent, data-driven results, Larson said.

OBAMA CITED EARLIER REPORT

President Barack Obama cited an earlier report in the IHS series on the campaign trail and in a State of the Union address that documented 600,000 jobs created by the natural gas sector.

That natural gas employment estimate has since swelled to 900,000 jobs, Larson said, noting more data is now available about new "plays" where companies are drilling.

By 2020, IHS forecasts about 1.3 million additional jobs in unconventional oil and gas, with the sector contributing more than $416 billion to the economy.

Of the 3 million total jobs, IHS said about 20 percent would come directly from the upstream oil and gas industry, with more than 900,000 people employed by suppliers and about 1.5 million "induced" jobs from spending by workers in the sector.

With 12 million Americans unemployed and about 23 million underemployed, the growth in unconventional oil and gas jobs is helping take some slack out of the jobs market, Larson said.

"This is really overwhelmingly net new jobs being added to the economy," he said.

BIG POLICY DECISIONS AHEAD

The report comes as the Environmental Protection Agency considers what role it should play in regulating hydraulic fracturing or "fracking," the technology used by drillers to blast sand, water and chemicals into shale rock to unleash the oil and gas.

Environmental groups have raised concerns that fracking can pollute groundwater and air, but the industry says the practice is safe so long as wells are properly built.

The projections in the report assume the industry remains regulated mainly at the state level, and also assumes that most growth in drilling continues to happen on privately owned land, Larson said.

The sector currently contributes more than $61 billion in revenues to government, rising to more than $111 billion by 2020, assuming no changes to the industry's tax incentives.

However, both Obama and Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney have talked about rolling back those tax breaks as U.S. policy makers look for ways to boost revenues to help avert massive spending cuts and personal income tax increases that are part of the "fiscal cliff" looming at the end of the year.

In February, IHS is planning another report in the series looking at how the energy boom has led to a "renaissance" in the U.S. manufacturing sector.

Part of that report will forecast jobs created by proposed exports of liquefied natural gas, Larson said.

IHS currently assumes exports of 4 billion to 6 billion cubic feet per day by 2035, Larson said -- far less than what companies have proposed to build.

Even if the Energy Department gives a green light for exports, IHS does not believe the global market is strong enough to support all the proposals, Larson said.

"It's really hard for us to see how all those (terminals), even if they were approved, end up being built," he said.

The Glove Box Interview: William Gray of 101 Family Holidays ? The ...

Posted on October 24, 2012 by Fiona Hilliard

William Gray is a busy man. Not only is he an award-winning travel writer and photographer, he?s also the author of Travel with Kids and Editor of 101 Family Holidays. ?Lucky for us, he had a few minutes to spare this week to take part in our weekly Glove Box interview?

?

William Gray

Q1.? If you had to offer fellow travellers one ?golden? tip what would it be?

Pause often and take the time to enjoy the ?moment? rather than being caught up in a busy itinerary and constantly anticipating the next bit of your trip.

?

Q2. What do you never leave the country without?

A sad farewell to our pet Labrador, Holly, who always gets ?suitcase anxiety syndrome? when she sees us packing and knows she?s about to be put in kennels for a week or two.

Q3. What if any is your travel philosophy?

Travel can, and should, make a positive difference to the local livelihoods and environments that you are privileged to be visiting. Only then can it be truly sustainable.

?

Q4. What is your favourite city and why?

I prefer real jungles to urban ones, but if I had to choose a favourite city it would be one that acted as a springboard to wilderness. Vancouver (or Victoria on Vancouver Island) fits the bill nicely ? you can be sipping a latte in a downtown caf? in the morning and trekking through old-growth rainforest before lunchtime. Cape Town and Brisbane have similar appeal.

?

Q5. In your opinion, which country has the best cuisine?

I?m a bit of a surf ?n? turf man ? and you can?t beat Kenya for its combination of steaks (cooked over an open fire on safari) and richly spiced Swahili seafood.

?

Q6. What is your favourite travel memory?

It?s difficult to pick just one. My fondest memories are generally those that involve returning to old haunts but with my children in tow. The twins are 12 now but watching their faces light up when they first set eyes on Victoria Falls was magical. Then there was the time they saw their first whale (in the Gulf of St Lawrence), snorkeled on the Great Barrier Reef, husky sledged in Lapland?

?

Q7. Where do you go when you want to take some time out to relax?

Cornwall. Apart from researching my Cornwall with Kids guidebook there a few years ago, it?s a destination reserved for simple pleasures, like surfing, playing beach cricket and walking the Southwest Coast Path.

?

Q8. Of all the countries you?ve visited, where could you imagine yourself moving?

New Zealand, Canada, South Africa? each has been the subject of wistful daydreams with my wife. But since we?ve had children, England feels more and more like home. No matter which far-flung place we?ve just been to, we always love returning here.

?

Q9.Which destination offers the best value for money?

The one that you return home from, having had the best time of your life, not begrudging a single penny you?ve spent.

?

Q10. What has been the most dangerous country that you have visited?

It?s not a particularly ?dangerous? place, but I suppose we?ve had more than our fair share of ?near death? experiences in Namibia: rolling our hire car off the dirt track on the way to Fish River Canyon, taking our five-year-old twins on a hunting safari with Bushmen and narrowly missing a leopard and a large puff adder?

Q11.What is your favourite thing about travel?

It?s always the same thing: been blown away by how beautiful and diverse the world is; finding yourself beyond the road?s end and a wifi hotspot, and experiencing natural spectacles unaffected by people ? whether it?s watching the northern lights in Lapland far from any light pollution or snorkeling with a whale shark that?s migrated across half an ocean.

Q12. Which destination has surprised you most?

Iceland is full of surprises. You imagine it to be bleak and uninviting, but there is something utterly addictive about its volcanoes, waterfalls and icecaps. It?s a superb self-drive destination (particularly if you rent a 4WD and venture onto the interior tracks), the whale watching and birdwatching is superb and there are some excellent places to stay and eat. I?d like to visit again soon ? particularly to witness a volcanic eruption.

Q13. What are your top three travel books/writers?

For laughs: Bill Bryson?s Walk in the Woods or Redmond O?Hanlon?s Into the Heart of Borneo; for inspiration: Charles Darwin?s Voyage of the Beagle; for page-turnability: Tim Butcher?s Blood River.

Q14. How do you deal with jet lag?

Usually with gritted teeth and a scowl.

Q15. Where are you travelling next and how do you plan to get there?

Alaska hopefully. Iceland Air have a new flight between Reykjavik and Anchorage, raising the tempting prospect of a few days touring my favourite spots in southwest Iceland followed by bear watching in Alaska?s Denali and Katmai National Parks.

?

Gazprom launches production at new huge gas field

(AP) ? Russia's energy giant Gazprom launched production at a major natural gas field in northern Russia while President Vladimir Putin asked the company to look into a growing role of shale gas producers.

Gazprom inaugurated the Bovanenkovskoye gas field on the Yamal peninsula that is expected to yield 46 billion cubic meters of gas next year, and 115 billion cubic meters a year in 2017. Reserves at Bovanenkovskoye, which is situated in the permafrost zone, are estimated at 4.9 trillion cubic meters.

The field is key to Gazprom's plans to expand Europe-bound exports. The state-owned gas monopolist has already built a pipeline leading to the field that would allow shipping the gas directly to Europe.

In Moscow, President Putin ordered Gazprom, which is controlled by the government, to prepare an in-depth report on its export policies and look into the prospects of competition from liquid natural gas, as well as shale gas producers.

Gazprom has for years played down the threat of shale gas producers taking up some of its market share in Europe.

Gazprom's stock was down 1.8 percent on Moscow's MICEX stock exchange in late afternoon trading, in line with the market.

Improving Healthcare Response in Haiti

?

EU--(ENEWSWPF)--23 October 2012

Earthquakes, tsunamis and hurricanes have taken their toll on many parts of the world. Communities struggle for years to rebuild without immediate access to basic necessities like proper healthcare. Satellites are helping to make this transition easier.
?
A new system designed by The Institute for Space Medicine (MEDES) in France and Local Insight Global Impact (LIGI) in Portugal, and supported by ESA through its integrated Applications programme, provides access to healthcare using satellite telephones and satellite navigation. It is designed for regions where trained medical professionals are sparse and where communications are limited due to the damage caused by a natural disaster. Telephone cables can be blown down, rendering phone networks useless. ??

The system has been used with success in Haiti, where the massive earthquake of 2010 has left its mark. Health units in many Haitian regions are few and far between and if someone decides to make the journey to a unit, there is a very good chance no one will be there to provide care. This system makes up for the lack of local health care by ensuring anyone from anywhere can be trained to report the symptoms of a patient accurately. It uses a special interface designed for satellite and smartphones that walks a user through a series of steps to send data as SMS messages via satellite or a ground-based system, if available. This information is then accessed by local and national health systems via an Internet portal.

Feedback on what to do for the patient can be given within a few minutes. For example, if serious medical attention is needed after the diagnosis, this is dispatched immediately. Because these data are sent in real time, it can also help the early detection of potential epidemics by revealing trends in symptoms. Satnav signals are used to ?geo-tag? symptom records, simplifying where the data are being collected. This helps to map potential epidemics based on the symptoms reported. Geo-tagging can also help to put patients in contact with the nearest healthcare provider.?

A five-month trial took place in Carrefour, a poor district in the Ouest Department of Port-au-Prince, where 10 teachers from urban and rural areas were trained to use the interface. More than 4300 symptom declarations were sent, allowing health care professionals to diagnose and make decisions on treatment almost immediately. ?We have shown that the interface is easy to use, and that non-health professionals can be trained to use it,? explains Susana Frazao Pinheiro, representing LIGI. ?This system can make basic healthcare more universal by making a more efficient and cost-effective use of resources, information and knowledge.? LIGI and MEDES will be expanding the system in Haiti to include more remote areas.

Giants 7th to overcome 3-1 deficit? |? Work to do

The Giants have faced elimination six different times this postseason. Yet they are still standing.

Game 7 of the NLCS wasn?t much of a contest, as the Giants topped the Cardinals 9-0 at AT&T Park in San Francisco this evening to win the National League pennant and advance to the World Series against the Tigers.

The Giants are the seventh team to rally from a 3-1 deficit since the LCS expanded from five games to seven in 1985. Bruce Bochy?s squad have grown accustomed to playing with their backs against the wall this postseason, also rallying back from a 2-0 series deficit to beat the Reds during the NLDS.

The Giants took control of Game 7 early, scoring one run in the bottom of the first, one in the second and five in the third to chase Kyle Lohse and put the game out of reach. They tacked on one more in the seventh when Aubrey Huff grounded into a double play and another in the bottom of the eighth when Brandon Belt homered. Matt Cain clearly didn?t have his best stuff tonight, but he delivered 5 2/3 scoreless innings before Jeremy Affeldt, Santiago Casilla, Javier Lopez and Sergio Romo finished the Cardinals off.

The Giants pounded out 14 hits on the night, including one from each member of the starting lineup. Marco Scutaro went 3-for-4 with a walk and run scored and finished the series 14-for-28 (.500).

The Cardinals were just one win away from their second straight trip to the World Series after Game 4 last Thursday, but nearly everything went south at the same time. In addition to being outscored 20-1 over the final three games of the series, none of their starters (Lance Lynn, Chris Carpenter, Lohse) lasted longer than four innings. They also committed four errors and allowed seven unearned runs. The Cardinals allowed 10 unearned runs during the entire series, setting a new NLCS record.

The Giants will advance to face the Tigers in the World Series, which will begin Wednesday night in San Francisco. In an interesting twist, the Giants have All-Star Game MVP Melky Cabrera to thank for home field advantage.

Social Media Got You Down? New Webinar Can Help ? The Book ...

Post image for Social Media Got You Down? New Webinar Can Help

It was really interesting to watch, earlier this year, as Pinterest, the new social media site, exploded in popularity.

All of a sudden, you had to be on Pinterest. Bloggers, internet marketers, authors and just about everyone else tried to figure out how Pinterest was suddenly driving so much traffic, entrancing so many web surfers and just generally getting an awesome amount of attention.

When I decided to check it out, I couldn?t even open an account because at the time you needed an invitation. I had to scour my contacts to find someone who would invite me (thanks Beth!) before I could start using it.

Under the radar, there are lots of people working on new ways to use the tools of social media to create excitement, attention and hopefully grow popular. We don?t hear about most of these until they take off.

What?s interesting is watching people struggle with how to integrate a new service like Pinterest into their marketing strategy. It can be a challenge.

Marketing Strategy?? You Have One of Those?

Yes, in that paragraph just above here I referred to your marketing strategy. You have one of those, right?

A strategy can be seen as your overall plan, the way you?re going to use your precious and limited resources?like time and energy, for instance?to meet your publishing goals.

For instance, your strategy might be to focus on offline marketing; speaking engagements, writing articles on your area of expertise for magazines within your niche, or running workshops.

Social media, though, requires special attention. With mature sites like Facebook and Twitter attracting hundreds of millions of users, and with more and more sites springing to life all the time, it can be a daunting task just to come up with a strategy.

Luckily, I already had a strategy firmly in place that I?ve been using for a couple of years. I learned it from Chris Brogan and Darren Rowse, and it works.

It?s the strategy I?ve used to find tens of thousands of people who are interested in my training courses, consulting services, and this blog.

Enter the Webinar

The Hub and Outpost Method of Social Media Marketing

When I was asked by Lisa Krebs at the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA) to run a webinar for authors, it was this strategy that sprang to mind.

I?ve talked to lots of authors who are overwhelmed with social media, or just plain reluctant to even get involved.

It just looks like a big waste of time, or like some super-complicated machine that they?ll never get the hang of. Or they think it?s all pointless celebrity worship.

Hey, I get it. There are lots of reasons to not do things that seem confusing.

But I wanted to put this great tool into the hands of as many authors as I could.

The webinar went off quite well. The 47-minute presentation allowed me to step through the process of integrating your online assets into a cohesive and productive whole. And I got some great feedback.

Now I?ve packaged up the slides, re-recorded the entire webinar so it doesn?t have that ?recorded over a bad phone line? look and sound, and put together a downloadable checklist to help you keep track of some of the points made in the presentation.

I?ve just uploaded this webinar, so here?s the deal:

  • If you?re unsure of how to put together your social media strategy, or
  • If you?re reluctant to even get involved, or
  • If you want to see how you can build an amazing, content-driven, non-stop network of influence and interaction,

? then take a look at the page I?ve set up that explains exactly what this is all about. You can find it here:

?> The Hub and Outpost Method of Social Media Marketing for Authors Webinar Bundle.

And let me know what you think, I?d love to hear from you.

"The Crypts is a place you never want to have cross your future... Everyone who goes in usually never escapes, mostly the ones who end up in ward six... The only escape that has ever taken place here was actually in ward six itself... A woman, so shaken by the deliria that she spent days, hours, months, years scratching the word `Love` on the walls. Everywhere. On one wall, the letters are as big as little children, and the O had been formed into a tunnel. Love trapped her, but also helped her escape."

The Crypts is a place you never want to end up in. People who disobey the laws are sent here, unless their punishment is execution. There are six wards, ward one being the least worst, and ward six being the place that should probably just be called `death sentence`. In elementary school, each class is required to visit the Crypts in a field trip at least once.
Sometimes people who show hints of the deliria, or are seen in the act of suspicious actions, they will be shown the Crypts again, to scare them of what will happen if they dare to rebel from everyday laws and common sense. Only ward one to ward five are available to be toured. Ward six is off limits to visitors.

The Crypts in Portland is located near one of the edges of the border. In fact, the electric fence actually runs into the back wall of it. In the middle of the large walls is a place called `Lifers`. It looks like a beautiful garden, with a single tree surrounded by a small pond in the middle of it, but it is actually a graveyard. People who die in the Crypts, usually people from ward six, are buried here. Some of them have makeshift tombstones, made out of usually sharp rocks and sloppy words written in pen or marker, left there by relatives or whatnot. Most of them, however, do not.

  • Ward One:
The least worst of all the wards. Usually people here are there for very little periods of time. Usually they are given work, and are sent out as regulators at night, of course, under the watch of every other regulator in their group. There are three times in the day that they are allowed to spend time in the field surrounding the Crypts, which is of course bordered by an electrical fence, which is powered 24/7, under the constant watch of guards. These times are after every meal, and these times last for an hour each. The longest time spent by a prisoner in this ward is 3 years.
  • Ward Two:
This ward isn`t that bad either, but it`s definitely worse. Times spent outside is only an hour once a day, at 3 o'clock. They are required to clean most of the Crypts, besides ward five and six. They get proper meals, but most definitely of lower quality. The longest time spent by a prisoner in this ward is 10 years.
  • Ward Three:
It`s at this point that the wards start getting bad. No time is allowed to be spent outside, since practically all time is spent inside cells, which are contained with metal bars. Prisoners are only allowed to associate from 12:00-5:00 P.M., inside the assembly room in the Crypts, which consists of stone walls and floors, and is heavily guarded by guards. From 6:00 A.M to 12:00 P.M., and 6:00 P.M. - 11:00 P.M. they are put to work through hard labor. All other time is spent in cells. Meals are of low quality. The longest time spent by a prisoner in this ward is 50 years.
  • Ward Four:
Worse, but not as bad as ward five and six. No time is allowed to be spent outside, and all time is spent inside cells besides for work time. Cells are contained with metal bars. Prisoners are allowed to associate, but only when cells, and not during 10:00 P.M. to 6:00 A. M. Work is hard labor, and goes from 12:00 P. M. to 9:00 P.M., without any breaks. The food is of bad quality. The longest time spent by a prisoner in this ward was all his life. Barely any prisoners ever make it out of this ward.
  • Ward Five:
Ward five is the second worst ward. No time is allowed to be spent outside, and all time is spent inside cells. Cells are contained with iron bars. Prisoners are barely allowed to associate, and usually can only when the guards aren`t around. Living conditions are almost horrible, and the food is of very bad quality. The longest time spent by a prisoner in this ward was all his life. On very rare occasions, prisoners will make it out of this ward. Sometimes prisoners are sent to lower wards.
  • Ward Six: Off Limits to Visitors. Constant guard with highly dangerous gun.
You never want to end up in this place. No time is allowed to spent outside, and prisoners will spend the rest of their life in their cell. They will never see the light of day again. Cells consist of stone walls and floors, a very bad mattress (could you even could it a mattress?), and two buckets, one with water, and one without any water. The way in is through a metal door, with only a tiny bullet proof window, which seems like a peep hole. Living conditions are horrible, and all cells are never cleaned, besides for the weekly switch out of the two buckets. All prisoners never will talk to anyone else ever again in their lives, and are pretty much sentenced for death. They only get one meal a day, and practically all prisoners succumb to insanity at some point.
Cell one eighteen in this ward is currently inhabitable, for the word love is still scratched everywhere, and the O hole is still there, letting light flood into it. The Crypts barely has any money, and practically all of it is spent on high security, so there is no money to fix this cell at the moment.

Pope names 'Lily of the Mohawks' first Native American saint

Pope Benedict named seven new saints on Sunday, including Kateri Tekakwitha, a Mohawk and Algonquin Native American born in 1656, to whom miracles are attributed.?

The celebration of figures who had suffered to promote the faith comes as the Church begins a drive to reclaim flagging congregations in former strongholds in the face of sex abuse scandals and dissent against Church teachings.

Thousands of pilgrims from around the world converged on St.?Peter's Square?to witness the ceremony recognising the saints, who included?Kateri Tekakwitha, a sixteenth-century convert known as "Lily of the Mohawks."

The crowd included hundreds of pilgrims from the United States' 2.5 million-strong Native American population, of whom 680,000 are estimated to be Catholic, a legacy of the success of early missionaries in converting indigenous people in?America.

Many pilgrims waved the flag of the?Philippines?and held portraits of Pedro Calungsod, killed doing missionary work in 1672, who became the second Filipino saint. Others in traditional German dirndl dresses and leather shorts cheered as Pope Benedict welcomed them in his native tongue.

Portraits of the new saints, including French Jesuit Jacques Berthieu, Italian priest?Giovanni Battista Piamarta, the Spanish nun?Carmen Salles?y Barangueras, and German laywoman Anna Schaffer hung from the marble facade of St.?Peter's Basilica, and the crowds cheered as each name was called.

Online Business Marketing Resources | Marijuana for MRSA

There are many third party products that help internet business owners maximize their websites pre-selling advertising campaign. When these are put into a website, it is important to see a few guidelines.

First, make sure they aren?t designed to steal customers. Each should be a support tool for the website not their own advertising website. They should not ask users to register for a third-party newsletter, or register in their community.

Second, always add the HTML code so that the website opens in a brand new window. This is easily carried out. All the code you?ll ever need will come in easy to follow tutorials at If you do not understand this tutorial, then there is an easy-to-follow tutorial at

One example of a resource that might be useful is a listing. This company offers the directory hosting service This will be a great third-party tool for an online business that focused on the neighborhood entertainment scene, or a regional relationship site.

Professional web hosting sites have a large number of scripts available, and are often cheaper compared to local sites. Your hosting service can come with Content Management Program software, newsletter, mailing lists, auto transponders, web analytics software, life chat support software, shopping carts, FAQ (facts and questions), polls and surveys, mailing lists, wiki, classifieds, auction scripts, and even a template wizard for those who want a quick complete the form website.

Podcasts Podcasts, streaming audio feed, are fast becoming among the #1 sticky sites. Some websites use these phones offer audio tutorials. Others run full time r / c from their sites. Podcasting is not easy, and it is not for that faint of heart. But, if you have the guts to try something new, visit this site:

Flash Animation Have $25 and also the time to learn how to make flash animation for your site? is one of the many software packages that are easy to use.

Video Streaming Youve observed those videos on bebo. You can make your own web videos. OR, if you dont have a video camera or a flash generator, you can turn a PowerPoint presentation right into a very flashy web movie audio included. These can be used as presentations, introductions, tutorials, and even invitations.

Web Seminars These are usually 1 hour chats that occur via java script speak software, much like MSN messenger. They can also take place via teleconferencing. Some free services like are great for newbies to get their feet wet and learn the fundamentals without wasting their cash.

RSS Feeds Whether you need to add the daily blog from the famous actor, a lecture series from the Harvard professor, the blog of a famous singer you?ll find it in text to increase your website, or a podcast from is popular but is easier to use. Syndic8.com will also hook you up with all the main social networking directories. Just use the links in the left hand column.

This content appears in your website. Of course, the free services possess a link back to their own site.

If you have excellent content, and want to catch other websites visitors, then burn your own blog right into a feed that other websites can publish and then submit it and other find feed sites.
Directories There are millions of directories on the internet. Directories for niche websites, newsletters, podcasts, courses, tutorials, stores, auction sites. If you can think of it, someone has already created a directory. All online business proprietors should submit to the search engines, but they should also put aside a couple hours every week, or month, to submit to these directories.

Polls and Surveys These are the most overlooked and under-rated tools on the web. Businesses pay marketing companies hundreds and hundreds of dollars to run marketing surveys simply to learn the same information they might find if they posted a few polls on their website.

Bangladesh to talk with US about terror suspect

DHAKA, Bangladesh (AP) ? Bangladesh says its diplomats will meet with U.S. officials to learn more about a Bangladeshi man held on charges of trying to blow up the Federal Reserve building in New York.

Foreign Minister Dipu Moni says Bangladesh diplomats in the U.S. will meet State Department officials Saturday in Washington.

Quazi Mohammad Rezwanul Ahsan Nafis was arrested Wednesday in an FBI sting operation. A criminal complaint says he made several attempts to blow up a fake 1,000-pound the bomb inside a vehicle parked next to the Federal Reserve.

The arrest of the 21-year-old has stunned his family in Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka. They say he could not have committed the alleged crimes.

"This is a sensitive issue," Moni told reporters. "We don't want to speculate on it."

Greenest gas? Synthetic fuel made from air and water

1 day

LONDON?(Reuters) - A small British company has developed a way to create petrol from air and water, technology it hopes may one day contribute to large-scale production of green fuels.?

Engineers at Air Fuel Synthesis (AFS) in Teeside, northern England, say they have produced 5 litres of synthetic petrol over a period of three months.?

The technique involves extracting carbon dioxide from air and hydrogen from water, and combining them in a reactor with a catalyst to make methanol. The methanol is then converted into petrol.?

By using renewable energy to power the process, it is possible to create carbon-neutral fuel that can be used in an identical way to standard petrol, scientists behind the technology say.?

"It's actually cleaner because it's synthetic," Peter Harrison, chief executive officer of AFS, said in an interview.?

"You just make what you need to make in terms of the contents of it, so it doesn't contain what might be seen as pollutants, like sulphur," he said.

The work is part of a two-year project that has so far cost around 1 million pounds ($1.6 million).?

The green petrol will not appear on forecourts any time soon, though.?

"We can't make (the petrol) at pump prices, but we will do eventually," Harrison said. "All we need is renewable energy to make it, and so when oil becomes a problem we will be able to make a contribution to keep cars moving or to keep aeroplanes moving."?

AFS said it was confident the technology could be scaled up to refinery size in the future. Each of the processes that go into making the fuel already take place separately on an industrial scale.?

For now, however, AFS plans to build a commercial plant in the next two years that will produce around 1,200 litres a day of specialist fuels for the motorsports sector, Harrison said.
